Dating and Marriage-
Dating- People in Belize primarily meet at private parties and school dances. Religious schools sometimes prevent their students from going to popular dating places such as discos. Among the Maya and some Mestizos boys may be only allowed to meet a girl in her home.

-Many Belizean young women never marry. They become single mothers very early in life. Men father a number of children by several women. Some couples enter common law marriage. For those who marry formally ceremonies are similar to the ones in the United States.
