There are only two major risks of having nuclear power plants around 1 is if the reactor or reactors manage to fail and the backup systems for the reactors and containment box for the waste is broken harmful radiation will be released into the air and the radiation can cause cancer.The second is terrorist strikes or raids on nuclear power plants either trying to blow it up or steal its fuel for nuclear weapons.
