Achilles proved himself to the king. Therefore, the king gave him one of the most beautiful girls from the villages that they had raided. Then the king's maiden named Chryseis was returned to her father. This lead to the king trying to take Achilles maiden. By now Achilles had started to care for his maiden. He would fight for her. This caused a huge argument between them and Achilles dropped out of the war.
