Global Communism and Containment

A. With different beliefs on how the government should be run, different opinions of possible allies, and how to run the economy, the countries in the continent of Europe were greatly divided during the Cold War.

B. People started to leave East Germany because of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the fact that Germany was unknowingly being divided, with people turning against each other.

C. NATO was a treaty organization that said if any of the participating countries was attacked, it would be seen as an attack on all of the countries. This was was formed as a defense against Soviet invasion.
