At the centre of each major city was a large structure called a ziggurat.ziggurats have been destroyed over the thousands of years but there is a ziggurat at Chogha Zambil that is one of the last surviving ziggurats in the world. There are also walls left from old building.

Writing:

Sumerian cuneiform is the earliest known writing system. Its origins can be traced back to about 8,000 BC and it developed from the pictographs and other symbols used to represent trade goods and livestock on clay tablets.

Influence modern society:

We could influence modern society through the government system,reading books and remembering the names or places and where they were and what the places are called now.

Famous sumerians:

Some famous sumerians were Gilgamesh, Sargon the great and Nabopolassar. Gilgamesh was the 5th king of the sumerian city or Uruk he was known as a demigod with superhuman strength.Sargon the great was the world first empire.He conquered many sumerian city-states and United them under one rule. Nabopolassar allied with Medes to over the Assyrian empire and conquer the City Nineven.He was then second Babylon empire and ruled for 20 years.
