Conservation Efforts

-There are wildlife reserves and animal conservations all over Africa to help protect animals against poaching and habitat loss

-Many organizations help protect the animals, like WWF, TRAFFIC, the Save the Elephants Project, CITES and the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust.

-In 1989, CITES, (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) put a ban on ivory trade, which made it illegal to hunt elephants for their tusks, and illegal to buy and sell ivory
