The theaters at the time used cutting edge technology

The theaters were huge semi-circles cut into the edge of mountains and hills. Some of the theaters were able to contain 20,000 people. They were designed in a semi circle to allow for everyone in the theater to see the performance.These theaters were out doors due to the fact that the designers of the theater weren't able to artificially light the play.
