Rabies has been around for a long time dating back to ancient Babylonia where mad dogs would bite people and kill them. As years passed many were also mauled by dogs and other animals with rabies. In 1885 Louis Pasteur gave a man who was mauled by a dog his rabies vaccine and the man survived.
