- After the Germans lost the battle they were starting to lose their morale/ confidence.
- It was considered a symbol of French determination to hold their ground despite the complete surprise of the assault and the massive loss of life in the battle. It also showcased the prowess of trucking as it was intensely used by the French to ship their supplies to the battlefield and managed to even out the odds for the outnumbered and weary French.
