The first factory workers in America were children.

No. So many other things were moving quickly that better trains were needed. most significantly, new technology was beginning to make America an Industrial Nation.

The Industrial Revolution did a lot of good things, like making our nation stronger and allowing more Americans to afford more things because many goods became less expensive. For some workers The Industrial Revolution brought an escape from poverty. But for many of them, the pay was low, their hours long, and the work mind-numbing and often dangerous.
