Germany became a country in A.D. 800. It was ruled by roman emperor Pope Leo III. Around 1648, the peace of Westphalia divided Germany into a hundreds of different states.

Later on, in 1871, Germany became ruled by emperor Wilhelm I, the king of Prussia.

The Weimar Republic was established in 1919 and ran through 1933. This established democracy for Germans.

Adolf Hitler became a chancellor of Germany in January of 1933. Then, in 1945 a military alliance dIsposed him. Joachim Gauck is the current president of Germany.
