Theme

After listening to and dissecting the song "The Climb", I feel as if the overall theme is that no matter how hard things get, it'll always be brighter on the other side. Also, this song stresses the importance of never giving up. Through poetic devices, the reader can imagine the struggles that Miley speaks of as a big mountain standing right in front of where you want to go. We often dread the journey over it and consider giving up. The phrases "Keep moving" and "Keep climbing" spark a burning desire in the reader/listener to push a little harder. The title "The Climb" relates to the theme because overcoming troubles relates to climbing in the sense that it might not be easy, but the end result will be worth it.
