All matter is made of atoms
An atom is the smallest particle of an element that has all the properties
Atoms are made up of protons neutrons and electrons. Protons and neutrons are found inside the nucleus while electrons are found outside the nucleus.
Both protons and electrons have charge, but protons have a positive charge while electrons have a negative charge
The magnitude, or size of the charge on the proton is the same as the one of the charge on the electron. Benjamin Franklin came up with the term positive and negative.
Force- a pull or push on an object.
When charged particles come near one another, they give rise to two different forces. A force that pulls objects together is a force of attraction.
A force of attraction exists between oppositely charged particles.a force that pushes objects apart is a force of repulsion, which exists between particles of the same charge.
