A. How did the status of women continue to change after World War II?
The status of women changed after World War II as they gained more rights and the world became more industrialized. Social roles of women in the workplace and other traditional roles weren’t completely eradicated but began to transform.
B. Examine the growth of feminism and equal rights in the second half of the twentieth century? (What rights did women fight for?)
The discrimination that women faced in the workplace was a major stimulus for the feminist movements in industrialized movements. After World War 2, when more and more women went to work, women started to protest job discrimination, pay differentials between men and women, and their lack of legal equality.
C. How did the Civil Rights Movement influence the women’s rights movement? (1960s)
In the United States the Civil Rights Movement which demanded equality for African-Americans influenced the women’s rights movement and provided a training ground for women activists.
