Pelvic Inflammatory Disease is an infection of the female reproductive organs. It is a sexually transmitted disease. As a result of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, more than 100,000 women become infertile each year. Pelvic Inflammatory Disease occurs when a disease-causing organism travels from the cervix to the upper genital tract.

Symptoms- chills, pain in lower back, and vaginal discharge

Treatments- antibiotics
