Popular Culture Reference: Some cultural references would be identity, since the majority of the time, the main characters are trying to find who their really are as well as understanding the social structure

Divergent takes places in a post-apocalyptic Chicago where majority of the 16 year olds test in order to find their life long identity. Throughout the story plot, a variety of characters are faced with various social forces that effects them of who they are as a person.
