- It was created on July 26, 1908.
- Attorney General Charles Bonaparte order a group of newly hired federal investigator
- to report to Chief Examiner Stanley W. Finch of the Department of Justice.
- One year the Chief renamed it Bureau of Investigation.
- In 1908 the Department of Justice hired 10 former secret service employees to join the expand office of the Chief Examiner.
- The agents are to report to duty on July 26 1908 to celebrate the genesis of the FBI.
