Biography
His pen name is J.R.R.Tolkien, and his full name is John Ronald Reuel Tolkien.
John was born on January 3, 1892 and died on September 2, 1973.
Childhood:
He was born in Bloemfontein, Orange Free State, South Africa. He converted to the Christian religion with his mother when he was 8. His mother taught him to speak French, German, and Latin. John would later join the British army and fight in World War One.
Adult life:
Before the war, John attended Exeter college, but his studies were interrupted by World War One. During the first Great War, John started to write the Silmarillion, the first addition in the Middle Earth history. After the war he moved to Leeds, U.K and became an Anglo-Saxon professor of Old English.
