APPROACH

Our society uses gender roles to place men, women, and those who do not identify with a gender in rigid positions through oppressive stereotyping. Gender stereotypes require people to identify with a gender. Women are expected to be more nurturing, take care of the kids, cook and clean. Men are expected to be strong, go to work, and be less emotional than women. Gender roles also provide double standards. For example, women are expected to be sex objects, yet they are also supposed to be virginal. Progress for the future would be a true modern societywhere people are more educated on the issue and aware of the negative effects it can have. Our vision for the future would be a society where no one is expected to fill specific roles based off of their gender.
