Edward Hirsch Bio

Edward Hirsch was born in Chicago on January 20, 1950. He had always enjoyed poetry during his childhood. He ended up going to Grinnell College and the University of Pennsylvania to study poetry. He was a professor of English at Wayne State University. In 1985, he joined the faculty at the University of Houston, where he spent 17 years as a professor in the Creative Writing Program and Department of English
