Plot

In "There Will Come Soft Rains" it starts out with an alarm clock that awakens the house. The house begins to speak and preform its daily functions. Then "a falling tree bough crashed through the kitchen window." (Bradbury) The house then catches on fire and burns to the ground. The house tries to stop the fire but can't because it's a house.
