Solids are molecules that are packed together solids keep their shape and don't float away. Liquids are molecules that are farther apart and can move past each other. Gases are molecules that are father than liquids. A solid has definite shape and volume, liquid has definite volume and does not have definite shape, and gas has does not have definite volume and does not have a definite shape. A solid to liquid is called melting,a liquid to gas is evaporation, a solid to gas is sublimation, gas to liquid is condensation, liquid to solid is freezing.
