Body Structure

The echinoderm body is differentiated into oral and aboral SURFACES. Also characteristic of echinoderms is the presence of an internal SKELETON. In addition, present on the surface of the asteroids and echinoids (although absent in ophiuroids, crinoids and holothurians) are pincer-like structures, the pedicellariae.
