The use of having various different channels in the modern day allows the BBC to have various different target demographics, and because of this they have a different impact on language for the different audiences. The children watching CBBC and CBeebies use these channels as a pivotal step towards language development, and the monosyllabic language and regular use of onomatopoeia allow the child to me more receptive, however on a more sophisticated channel such as BBC 4, there will me a more professional polysyllabic language.
