Final Years and Death
By the mid 1840's, Chopin's health was going, his behavior became strange and unusual, mainly due to his undiagnosed epilepsy, and illness. He went on a long trip to the British Isles, where he then struggled under a exhausting schedule. He made his last public performance on November 16, 1848. He then died in Paris on October 17, 1849, at age 38. He was buried at the Père Lachaise cemetery, but his heart was kept in a church in Warsaw, close to were he was born.
