Now that your mush of food , chyme, is out of your stomach it goes into the small intestine,which isn't that small and 22 feet of curled intestine. The small intestine is filled with villi, which is full of capillaries that help the blood run smoothly.The small intestine breaks down the food mush even more, so that it can absorb the nutrients. How you may ask, with help from the liver, the gall bladder, and the pancreas. The pancreas makes juices that help digest fat and protein. A juice from the liver called bile helps absorb fat into the bloodstream. The gall bladder is like a little house where the bile stays until the body needs it. The gall bladder realising the the bile is how your blood sugar is controlled.
