Methodology

S.o.S transforms unloved spaces through her unique approach to making mural art.

Saltdean Tunnel renovation funded by local residents. The project was launched on social media using the scale digital design and raised four times the funding needed.

Meticulous planning and designing of the overall design. The visuals created were used to raise funds in the crowdfunding campaign. Therefore it was important for the creative designs to be accurate and high aesthetic quality in order to reach the financial target.

Saltdean Seafront WC Block This had fallen into disrepair and the local Residents Association had funding left over from the crowd funder and commissioned me to create a transformation. I was given carte-blanche and decided to highlight local endemic species of insects, wild flowers and plants in giant scale.

Transforming Spaces Reflecting the local environment around a site can be a vibrant way of drawing attention to surrounding wildlife and reminding the public about conservation issues.

You wouldn’t usually put cellophane, spray-paint and nature together, but my “Cellograffiti” installations have been delighting visitors to festivals and immersive events for the last few years. Sometimes l create an artwork in the woods to be discovered by unsuspecting people during their meanderings. Whatever the surface, my semi realistic artwork style represents nature in large scale. There is an element of fantasy and a soft focus illustrative quality to the finished pieces I create.

Most media has a long way to go ... I like to represent women and girls in a positive, powerful or thought provoking way. If we can begin to empower women and girls whenever we represent them rather than portraying as pretty and vacant, I believe that we will help make gender equality happen more quickly. I have spoken in public on a number of occasions, including being invited by EU parliamentary members to present to the press in Vienna about Art for Social Change. I have a first class Masters in Inclusive Art Practice 2015 and in September 2018 was recognised by 10 Downing St with the PM's Points of Light award.
