Vizcaya has a history of site specific art installation. James Deering, Vizcaya’s owner and his artistic director commissioned a series of site specific art works throughout the property by contemporary artists of the day. We have extended this tradition through our Contemporary Arts Program or known as CAP. CAP is currently on a one year hiatus as we strategically plan out the next 5 years of the program.

PAC allows us to extend this practice of integrated contemporary art into the literary arts and continue to use Vizcaya as a site to inspire artistic dialogue and production. We also envision the program as a model for our approach to community partnerships and creating opportunities for Vizcaya to be a community resource.
