What does the RBC do after it leaves the heart? What vessel does it travel in?
After it gets through the aorta, some of Billy's pals go to the brain. The arteries that go to the head can be found on the aortic arch. The descending aorta goes behind the heart and down the middle of our body. From the aorta, Billy and his friends go to the many arteries and arterioles where it gives out oxygen and nutrition to all cells in the body. After all of that, Billy hands off his cargo and enters the venous system. The venous system gives Billy a ride back to the heart. Billy then flows from the capillaries, to the venules, to the vein.
