Theme: "Tuck Everlasting" & "Urashima Taro"; Change Is Changeless

In a scene from the story "Urashima Taro" Urashima comes back to his home village after what has felt like a few days with his new wife in a palace under the sea and he discovers that instead of 3 or 4 days 300 years have past. Urashima tries to change this by opening a box he was not supposed to open but instead the magical box kills him, because we all know; change is changeless

In the story "Tuck Everlasting" Jesse Tuck, an immortal 104 year old man that has the literal life and body of a 17 year old, tries to change the fact that; because they are immortal they cannot live long happy lives with other mortals, but Jesse tries to entice a mortal girl named Winnie, who knows of the Tuck's immortality , to also, when 17 like Jesse, make herself immortal so they can live an endless life in eternity with each other. But because immortality is curse Winnie chooses not to immortalize herself . Thus for change is changeless because Jesse cannot change that he is immortal an cannot drag other people into his endless spiraling ordeal.

In both stories people are trying to change things in their life that they wish they could change but none of these things work out in the way they are expected presenting the theme change is changeless
