A force is measured using a spring scale in units called Newtons (N). To use a spring scale you put the hook on the object that your trying to find
the amount of force on and u lift it up and measure it and then you do the same thing on the other side and then if it's the same u know the object will be stationary and if the amount of force is different then you know you will have to calculate and find the net force.

How is a Force Measured?

The spring scale is measuring the amount of force this bike has going forward in newtons.

Examples:
*when you do a science project and need to know the amount of force that object has going up a ramp with a high velocity rate.
*when you know the velocity of an object you calculate that by remembering that gravity and friction are playing major rolls in everything and can find the net force of say a car going down a grassy hill.
