The War Begins
The 2nd Continental Congress - On May 10, 1775 they met in Philadelphia. They chose a New Englander to command their New England Army.
The Continental Army - It was John Adams idea and they elected George Washington to lead them.
The Battle of Bunker Hill - This clash, which was misnamed the Battle of Bunker Hill, was short but very bloody. More than 1,000 British troops were killed or wounded, and nearly half that many Americans. This was no small skirmish on a village green. A war had begun.
The Siege of Boston. Ticonderoga - It was an old British fort located at the southern end of Lake Champlain in New York.
