Water is made of two hydrogen atoms attached to an oxygen atom. This seems like pretty basic chemistry, so why don't we just smash them together and solve the worldÂ's water ills? Theoretically, this is possible, but it would be an extremÂely dangerous process, too.
The water cycle is the cycle of processes by which water circulates between the earth's oceans, atmosphere, and land, involving precipitation as rain and snow, drainage in streams and rivers, and return to the atmosphere by evaporation and transpiration.
Rain water picks pollutants from the atmosphere and then falls to the earth thus increasing the water pollution problems. Also when rain falls, street litters (cigarette butts, plastic bottles, candy wraps, etc.) can be picked up by overland flows and can be released into the sewer which ends up in rivers, streams, lakes, oceans. Fertilizers, chemical spills, septic tank failures, and sanitary sewer overflows can contaminate ground water. All these sources are connected to water cycle.
