Why were captains of industry important?
The captains of industry were the same men as the robber barons. It all depended on how people saw them. The lower-class people saw them as robber barons, who were evil overpowering businessmen who took away their advantages, and the middle-class people saw them as captains of industry who were only really trying to help.
