MY NAME IS JOAN.

HELLO!

People know me as Joan of Arc rather than Jeanne d'Arc, which is actually my full name. I was born in the year of 1412 in the village of Domremy, France. Although I'm famous now, back then I was nothing but a farmer's daughter. I could not go to school to learn to read and write, but instead herd the cattle and sheep, helped out in the fields, and devoted most of time praying around the town. When I was thirteen years old, don't think I was crazy or anything, but I started to hear voices. I believe the voices in my head were those of St. Michael, St. Catherine, and St. Margaret. I believe that they were telling me to get the English away and out of Orleans and to take Charles the Dauphin to get crowned. Hopefully my thoughts were correct because I made a few bold moves after I kept hearing their voices and visions. I was eventually sent to Charles, where I then led a group of French soldiers to attack and fight the English. Even though I was wounded and hurt, I kept fighting until we won. I guess you could say that I'm extremely brave, as well as courageous and confident. My victory led to a new nickname, the Maid of Orleans. After Charles' coronation, I went in more battles. I sadly have to say I was captured in one by the Burgundians. They accused me of using witchcraft (because I did amazing things that they couldn't do) and eventually burned me at the stake on May 30, 1431. Before my death, you have to admit, I accomplished a lot of incredible things.
