Ever wanted to live your own game? Ever wanted to control everything? Ever wanted to save the world? Then this book would be great for you. It tells the story of John, Rose, Dave, and Jade's adventures through the medium. But allow me to back up. The date is Monday, April 13th, 2009. A young man, at the age of 13, stands in his room. His name is John Egbert, and it's his thirteenth birthday. It's also been three days since a new game, SBurb, was supposed to go into beta. Unfortunately, John has yet to get his copy. For the first dozen or so pages, you get used to the "mechanics", or gimmics of the story, such as the Captchalog, aka inventory, which each character has a specific type. After his father comes home, and just so happened to get the mail that John was about to get, he must go downstairs and avoid his father, who "monopolizes" John's time. After a heated confrontation (bad pun you'll understand when you read it) with said father, he finally grabs his game while his dad is busy with the smoke detector. He manages to get upstairs, and the story begins to unfold. As the story progresses, you get introduced to many problems and characters, such as the aforementioned Dave, Rose, and Jade, the trolls, and the meteors heading for their houses once they boot up the game. Oh, yeah, probably shoulda mentioned that once the game boots up and you activate the first object, a timer starts that shows you how long until you're transported to "the medium", or the game world, apparently with at least 7 levels, along with your current location. For example, John got transported along with his house and driveway, which has his dad's car and the mail in it.
