Conflicts
One of the most well known and major conflicts that involved Panama was called operation "Just Cause". It was a United States invasion of Panama. The current president and leaders of Panama wanted to give the Panama Canal to full control to the Panamanians. At that time the Panama Canal was owned by the United States. The U.S. has said that they invaded to protect Panamanian rights, and the safety of U.S citizens in Panama. They also claimed it combated drug trafficking.
