A safety switch is very important and is recommended in every A/C system. A Binary switch would be used if you are running an engine driven, mechanical cooling fan only.
The Binary will protect the compressor from engaging if the pressure in the A/C system is 0 or less than 30 psi to prevent damage to the compressor OR if your High side head pressure climbs above 400 psi.
