Public gatherings were held in the plazas. There were special ball courts where games were played. Losers were sacrificed. Cities began to battle for power and land. Enemies were captured and killed as a sacrifice to the gods. It is believed that warfare is the blame for their downfall.
In special ball courts, games were played where you hit the ball, but not with hands or feet.
