Militarism

The growth of mass armies after 1900 heightened the existing tensions of Europe. Militarism is aggressive preparation for war, was growing. As armies grew, so did the influence of military leaders. They made vast and complex plans quickly mobilizing millions of men, military's feared that any changes to these plans would cause chaos. They insisted that their plans could not be altered, in the 1914 war it left the European political. Leaders little leeway. They were forced to make decions for miltary instead of political.
