Analyze

The different shade of blue dominates the painting. The yellow stars and lights stand out. The sky, water, and city are made up of edge lines and the stars made up of implied lines.

Describe

From the view point on a balcony looking out at the city and up at the stars, Van Goh shows the city all light up at night and the stars shinning in the sky.

Interpret

I think that Vincent was in his room on his balcony at night and liked the way the stars were standing out in the night and how the city was still bright and people were still awake and that he liked his view.
