Most thyroid cancer can be cured, specially if they have not spread to distant parts of the body. If the cancer can't be cured, they might give you treatment to destroy or remove as much of the cancer as possible and to keep it from growing, spreading or returning for as long as possible.
One treatment is surgery to remove the gland that contains cancer.

Second treatment is thyroid - stimulating hormone suppression therapy. These may reduce TSH in your body, wich may help prevent the growth of any remaining cancer.
You may need to take thyroid hormones medicine for the rest of your life to replace the hormones that your body no longer makes.
