The Arctic poppy is a plant species that can withstand the coldest parts of the Arctic. It grows at latitude of 83 degrees N, making it the most northern growing plant in the world!

The Arctic poppy is tall and has hairy stems. Each stem bears big yellow flowers, that ascends from the rosette of divided and equally hairy leaves. Some Arctic poppy have white flowers. The flowers can be seen between June and July.

The Arctic poppy grows on gravelly dry soils.
