Macbeth
[I, 2]
Malcolm
21
This is the sergeant
Who like a good and hardy soldier fought
'Gainst my captivity. Hail, brave friend!
Say to the king the knowledge of the BROIL
As thou didst leave it.
(Shakespeare)
Quote 1
BROIL
Explanation
Malcolm is urging the captain to tell Duncan how Macbeth killed MacDonawald. Macbeth killed Macdonald by cutting off his head and putting it on a stake. In this quote broil foreshadows that Macbeth will die in battle and the same fate as MacDonawald.
