History of the Park
- Kobuk is one of four parks that are grouped together and known as Western Arctic National Parks.
- Kobuk Valley became a national park when President Jimmy Carter under the Antiquities Act (1979) established it a national monument.
- Kobuk Valley is the only national park that allows natives to live in the land and hunt to survive.
