Since ancient times, abortion had been considered a matter of family planning, gender selection, population control, and the property rights of the patriarch (head of the family or tribe.) The rights were rarely in the mothers hands,and even more rarely, taken into consideration. Although generally legal, the morality of abortion, has developed a lot of controversy over the year, both good and bad.
