The Folk Festival is a great place to find where traditions began. Most of the traditions that are still around started in the Appalachia area. There is still square dancing in the streets of Glenville when the time for the festival comes. During the first decade, the festival didn't have a written purpose. We now use the festival to to bring back old traditions.
