Net forces:

•If the directions were going opposite with 30 Newtons to the LEFT and 50 Newtons to the RIGHT, you would subtract the two numbers and get 20 Newtons.

Net force is the way force acts on an object. Always use Newtons when your dealing with force.

Ex: If an object is going 30 Newtons to the RIGHT and 20 newtons to the RIGHT, you would add the numbers together to get the total net force of 50 Newtons. You add the numbers together because they are going in the same direction.
