Food chains start with the sun and the energy is passed down to the plant. Then, the plant gets eaten by a herbivore. A herbivore is an animal that eats only plants. Then, a carnivore or omnivore will eat the animal that ate the plant. A carnivore is an animal that eats only meat and a omnivore is an animal that eats animals and plants. Then, a carnivore or omnivore will eat the animal that ate the herbivore. Then the carnivore or omnivore will die and decomposers will eat it's remaining flesh. This is the end of the food chain.
