Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five
Louis Armstrong and His Hot Five was Louis Armstrong's first jazz recording band. The band consisted of Louis Armstrong on trumpet, a piano, trombone, clarinet, and guitar. There were two Hot Fives. One in 1926 through 1927 and one in 1928. In the first Hot Five, Louis's wife, Lil, played piano. Every member of the original Hot Five was a New Orleans musician and played a New Orleans style sound. They recorded songs such as the famous West End Blues and Weather Bird.
